Update on the wedding dress

As many of you know (if you know me) i am in the midst of knitting my wedding dress. It was coming along well, until i put it down for a few months and couldn't seem to pick it back up, even after an official engagement had happened and all that jazz, you would think i would be more stoked to finish it if i had a deadline! Well no. So, i try and jump start my ambitions again i decided to start over! What a great solution!?! Well in fact it actually does seem to be a good solution, i am much more ambitious and due to it being in the round and having to not purl any longer! I have also started the corset top which should be extremely fun, mostly because it knits up much faster than having to deal with a round of 300-600 stitches!

Snow means knitting!

Well it's December 2nd again and the holidays are on their way! For knitters this is always a season of feverishness because families begin to expect an array of handcrafted items such as socks, hats, scarves and the occasional sweater for someone who has been especially good the past year. This year why not indulge those do-gooders with some good ol' fashioned warmth and keep your work to a minimum! We have all kinds of wonderful patterns to choose from and many patterns that we have demo's for that are free with a the projects yarn purchse! AND they only require one skein of yarn! For example, to promote Louet's brand new novelty boucle and self striping yarns we have a one skein hat from Clyde and a pair of matching finger less mitts from Bonnie and wonderful and fun self striping worsted weight!

Also, remember alpaca is 5 times warmer than wool! SO for your babies little noggins you may consider using Alpaca with a Twist's Big Baby yarn for some cute little tot hats! We have a free pattern of this as well which also only uses one skein, in fact you could probably also get a pair of little thumb-less mittens as well!

For the more elegant we have a brand new shipment in of the always luxurious Venezia worsted from Cascade (70% Merino, 30% Silk). I absolutely love this yarn! It is a brand new yarn, 219 yards! Great colors, awesome stitch definition!

Remember, knitters love knitting gifts! We have beautiful handcrafted silk needle and crochet cases from Lantern moon, books galore, project baskets, and the always popular gift certificates! Hand dyed yarns or hand spun yarns are also always a thrill to receive because they may be to extravagant to buy on a whim, but always loved and lusted after!

Don't forget we have plenty of classes from now until the holidays where you could make a finished project in just one class! Needle felting classes galore! Kids love these simple, yet fully animated treasures!
